Building a communications engine for a leading European deep tech investment fund

Here's an awkward truth about venture capital: even the sharpest funds can sound... forgettable. Great returns, elite founders, real industrial impact, and yet, somehow, the brand whispers when it should roar. That was the starting point with this fund.

Over the past year, we partnered with one of Europe's leading deep tech investment firms to rethink how they communicate with founders, LPs, and the wider ecosystem.

The collaboration started with a rebrand, but quickly evolved into something broader: building a communications system that could support the firm's next stage of growth.

Together, we launched a new brand and website, developed an executive thought leadership series, and created a content and distribution strategy designed to keep that narrative working long after launch.

The challenge

The fund had already built what most aspire to: top-tier performance, a clear specialization in industrial and deep tech, and a track record of turning complex innovation into commercial success.

However, the existing brand and communications didn't fully express that edge. A commercialization-first VC with a demanding operating model and a clear ambition to become one of Europe's most performance-driven funds was still communicating in ways that felt fragmented. As they prepared for their next chapter, they needed a communications system that matched their level of conviction, clarity, and ambition.

Our approach

We started by sharpening the firm's narrative. Everything was built around one central idea: commercialization. The principle that defines how the team invests, supports founders, and creates value.

That narrative became the foundation for the rebrand, the new website, and every communication that followed. From there, we translated the positioning into a communications strategy designed to create consistency across every touchpoint. We coordinated the creative process with 2 brand designers, one specialized in branding, typography & colors, and one specialized in websites & motion graphics.

Alongside the rebrand, we developed a three-part executive thought leadership podcast series exploring industrial autonomy, commercialization, and Europe's industrial future. We led the strategy, concept development, scripting, production management, and launch, working with creative production partners to bring the series to life.

Rather than treating the podcast as a standalone campaign, we developed a broader content strategy around it. The series was supported by a thought leadership article on the firm's website featuring all three episodes, distributed through YouTube, amplified through executive LinkedIn profiles, their portfolio company, and repurposed into a library of short-form video content designed to extend the conversation over time.

Every piece of communication was designed to reinforce the same positioning, ensuring the brand was consistently experienced.

The outcome

The collaboration resulted in a stronger, more consistent communications foundation across the firm's owned channels.

Over eight months, key performance indicators improved across visibility, engagement, and website performance:

  • LinkedIn impressions: +114%
  • LinkedIn reactions: +101%
  • Followers: +35%
  • Website users: +33%
  • Organic search traffic: +45%
  • Social traffic: +101%
  • Website engagement time: +63%

Impressions and followers are nice. Engagement time is the tell. It means the people showing up weren't just passing through. They were staying, reading, and actually paying attention.

Our takeaways

We call this Legacy Communication™. Building communications designed to outlast the launch date. Three principles hold it together:

Clarity. Before you publish anything, know your point of view. What do you believe, and what makes it worth someone else's attention?

Credibility. A brand only becomes believable once it's experienced consistently. Website, executives, thought leadership, content, all singing the same note. The story deserves new ways of being told.

Continuity. The launch is only the beginning. The brands that last keep building consistent content, visible executives, and work with a distribution system that doesn't quit after week one.
